Studio Habitat Design
The Studio Habitat Design Brand brings together two creative directions – bespoke industrial design and original, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Bespoke Industrial Design
For individual projects, we develop tailored solutions that meet the spatial requirements and specific needs of each client. These are functional, precisely crafted products that harmonize with the interior and enhance the overall user experience.
Unique Pieces by Designer Đorđe Bjelobrk
Under the Studio Habitat Design name, we also create unique interior pieces distinguished by a clear design signature and exceptional craftsmanship. Every element is carefully considered in terms of material, form, and detail – with a focus on durability, exclusivity, and artistic value that brings identity and character to a space.
Meet The Designer
I am an interior designer with over two decades of experience in commercial, cultural, and educational work. In my designs, I consider ergonomics, draw from aesthetics shaped by various branches of art and life experiences, and explore the possibilities of materials with the aim of creating products that withstand the test of time.
After graduating from the Secondary School of Industrial Design in Belgrade, I continued my studies at the University of Arts in Belgrade, specializing in interior and furniture design, where I graduated in 1996. I gained my first experience at Duo Design Studio, where, together with my colleague Vojislava Ilić, I received the Silver Key Award at the Belgrade Furniture Fair for an office furniture program.

Between 1998 and 2002, I collaborated with architects Saša Uran and Nandet Korpnik while also enrolling in a master’s program at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Professor Saša Mächtig. As a member of the MREŽA group, I co-created Slovenia’s presentation at the exhibition European way(s) of life (EWOL) at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, which received the Student Prešeren Award.
In addition to commercial projects, between 2002 and 2012 I created stage designs for the productions of directors Matjaž Latin and Rene Maurin in various Slovenian theatres and prepared the exhibition Bogdan Bogdanović – The Cursed Architect (Museum of the City of Belgrade, 2011) under the guidance of Ivan Ristić, the permanent curator of the Leopold Museum in Vienna. The exhibition received the Audience’s Silver Snowflake Award at the international festival Sarajevo Winter.
As head of the interior design department at the architectural firm Plan B (2003–2007), I worked on projects for Ptujske lekarne, Dravske elektrarne, Rogaška, and the Ptuj City Theatre, which won first prize in the renovation competition. Among the most notable exhibitions were the Biennial of Design in Ljubljana with the project HYBRID, Young Maribor Architects, Compilation_05, and Next to You in Graz.
In 2009, I founded Studio Habitat, where I combine design experience, technical knowledge, and a vision of timeless interiors. Since 2023, I have been a visiting external collaborator for the course Interior Design at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Architecture at the University of Maribor, as well as a mentor in the Erasmus+ program, providing practical training for students from various European countries.
I work thoughtfully, with clearly defined goals and a strong sense of responsibility toward the client and the space. This principle guides every design created at Studio Habitat.
